Sabina and Helena hail from the last Carib community in St. Lucia known as La Pointe. It is a very beautiful community located right at the base of famous Gros Piton. Sabina is the youngest potter in her community but has been working at the craft for more than twenty years, beginning at the age of fourteen. Her grandmother, who is still a crafter, taught her what she knows. Sabina has been able to make a living being exclusively a potter and is known for her coal pots, cooking pots, and flower pots just to name a few. Her products can be purchased at her home or at the Choiseul Arts and Craft Center and she can make custom orders. She is the CATCH (Choiseul Association of Craft and Heritage Tourism) representative for La Pointe. |
