WOWO BAND

The Wowo band received its name from a man named Darius ‘Wowo’ Victor, a legendary performer from Choiseul who was the group’s front man.

Mr. Wowo was known widely throughout St. Lucia and the Caribbean as an excellent traditional musician.

Sadly, Mr. Wowo has since passed away but the Wowo Band plays on in his legacy.

The band has been together for more than 20 years and currently consists of 5 members, all of whom have been playing an instrument nearly their entire lives.

The Wowo Band is very representative of an old time St. Lucian group consisting of a shak shak, skutumba, banjo, guitar and drum.

The band has contracts with numerous hotels in St. Lucia where they can be seen playing authentic St. Lucian music. These hotels include Ladera, Stonefield, and Anse Chastanet.
